I was wondering why on the left hand and why on the ring finger for wedding rings. I heard the left hand had to do with being closer to the heart or because most people are right handed but what which one is true? What about the ring finger?

How can I preserve my wedding bouquet myself?
I got married on July 19th and my bouquet was stuck in the freezer by someone as I was very busy leaving for my honeymoon. Now I am back and have no idea what to do with the bouquet in order to preserve it. I definitely want to do it myself. Can someone please walk me through the steps on how to preserve it from the stage it’s in now (frozen)? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!!

July 4th Wedding, fun idea or imposition on others holiday planning?
My guy and I have been together 7+ years and we are thinking of getting married next year. Since weve already been together so long, we do not want a large obnoxious wedding, just something fun and laid back for friends and family.
I thought 7/4/08 would be a good date because:
It’s holiday most people have it off
It’s a Friday so there’d be plenty of recovery time before most guests would have to be at work, and they would not have to rush home right away.
It seems like a holiday people would like to get together on anyway.
My mother seems to think this is a terrible idea because:
Traffic will be busy
People might already have plans.
I comprehend people might do the same thing each year and make plans in advance for the 4th, but all I genuinely want is to treat my friends and family to a nice evening. If they cannot make it, I am not going to be upset. Of course I would love for everybody to be there.
So, if you were invited to a 7/4 wedding what would you think?
It’s going to be so hard to select an answer, all of you are giving great feedback. I am actually quite suprised most seems to be positive!

I think I will run the idea past my closest friends and family and see if the date/holiday would keep them from the celebration. Even though fireworks for our aniversary would be great, I’d rather have a chance to celebrate with the ones I love.
