Question by hapi82:
What color wedding dress would work best?
I am getting married on August 31, 2008 and my bridesmaids dresses are truffle with orchid colored sashes and an orchid peekaboo skirt. I have always imagined myself getting married in a white wedding dress, but now I am beginning to think that maybe ivory would look superior since the bridesmaids dresses are truffle colored. What do you think? Do you think white would be nice as well or should I really go with ivory? Thank you for your advice!

——————————————

Answer by nataliexoxo
really the only way to know which you want more is to try them on and see what color looks ideal on you.

i thought i wanted white till i tried mine on. it’s called candlelight. it’s just a hair off white and soooo pretty. it complements my skin superior than the white did i think.

Answer by annie
if ur worried about wearing all white how about adding some truffel in with it?

Answer by mynxr
White will be fine. I think it will look beautiful.

Question by Sue S:
What’s the etiquette on returning wedding gifts?
We recently got married and got a bunch of presents not on the registry and things that we would never use. What is the etiquette on returning gifts? Should you only return them if you think people wont come over? Should you return whatever you want?

Help!

——————————————

Answer by ctizz184
Return what you want, those people took a risk in getting a gift off the registry. Just be prepared to explain why you returned the item if they do come over and notice that it is missing. It’s highly unlikely that they would ask, but you can just state that you exchanged it for something that you needed and would use more. They should be happy that the money went to something useful rather than something random that would sit on a shelf forever.

Answer by nova_queen_28
Return what you want – - and I sincerely hope the givers included a gift receipt so you can get the full price they paid returned to you.

I got a few items that I was not registered for and that I had no use for. Wherever possible I returned the items for store credit. Anything I could not use and could not figure out where it came from went into a yardsale. Harsh, I know, but my fiance & I are in a 1,000 sq ft home with very tiny space to spare to stash stuff we do not need or cannot use.

——————————————

Question by lenargil:
What is the etiquette for a widow in such things as continuing to wear your wedding rings?
Is it just a personal decision, or are there any recommendations or rules in general? I miss him very much, but it is a constant reminder that he is gone, and I am not married anymore.

——————————————

Answer by duffie_1999
They are your rings and your loss of a loved one. You do whatever feels right to you and I am so sorry you lost your husband. I do not think you will not think of him as often if you do not wear the rings.

Answer by old lady
This is a personal decision for each woman in that situation. Some, such as yourself, find it a constant reminder of a sad event. Others find it a comforting reminder of the good times. Whatever feels most comfortable for you is what you should do, and my condolences on your loss.
PS: It used to be a custom for a widow to place her wedding ring in the coffin with her husband, but that is no longer generally done.

Answer by Hillary B
Im so sorry for your loss. If you feel that taking it off will help you than you should follow your heart. You finished a marriage and if you would still like to wear it do. Only you will know what is right. Good luck

I’m seriously running out of money for my wedding and I have heard that using fake flowers for a bouquets can look nice and save a lot of cash (especially if I them it together myself). We are having a fall theme. Any views or suggestions?

Answer by Cherokia
Yes, you can use fake flowers and it can look very real, as long as it is done right.

Answer by Tina
If you can go to your local grocery store and purchase a bouquet for $ 15-$ 20 and cut off the ends and wrap a satin ribbon around the bottom. This will save you a lot of money and look nice

Answer by ladyellei
Fake flowers are fine. With it being fall, you can do dried flowers, too!!! If you have a hearvest theme, think about using wheat shafts as decor/bouquets. It can be very elegant and inexpensive.

I am reading a book about a lady in the 1800′s. It’s called the Duke Next Door by Celeste Bradley. I am having trouble visualizing the main character Dierdre because I have no idea what her clothing would look like.

Question by Mark S:
Looking for a Professional pic lab to do my wedding albums?
I do a lot of weddings in Las Vegas and I am looking for a professional pic lab to have my albums done, I need flush mounted albums and be able to depend on the quality and turn time because I have to ship to people all over the world that come to Las Vegas to get married.

——————————————

Answer by George Soudah
I recently found a pic lab that makes there own pic albums, I got married last June in Las Vegas and had my wedding album done with them, great quality and they shipped it to me in about a month. I also had enlargements done with them too, they go the extra distance to make sure the pics where color corrected and lightened because the photographer that sold me my images where a tiny dark. They have an on the web ordering system and they are based in Las Vegas you should give them a try, I did and with great results! They are called – Iphotoshop.com

Answer by Tim
I currently use:

Zookbinders for leather bound flush mount albums

Asuka Books for coffee table style albums

Cypress Albums for a more artsy album with Japanese ribbon bound hand made paper.

Question by yaaaadiggggggg:
Do you think this is a tacky idea for a wedding reception?
You know how usually everyone in the wedding celebration has there own small bottle of Champagne and a glass to make a toast? Well what if everyone had a mini bottle of grey goose vodka and customized shot glasses instead? and then everyone would take a shot after the toast instead of a sip of champagne.

——————————————

Answer by Jessi
It’s a tiny tacky, yes. I would do the traditional champagne thing, and then at a later point during the reception you could all do a shot together.

Answer by PiiXiiE
i do not know about the tackiness, but i think people are a lot more likely to drink a champagne toast then to do a shot of vodka. a lot of people do not do shots, and straight vodka is not very good, especially if you do not usually do shots to start with.

i’d stick with champagne (or the regular table wine) and do shots later on at the bar with people who want to.

congratulations and ideal of luck! ^_^
