A lot of times the bride and groom with give each other a wedding gift.

I think I am going to get my fiance a nice watch.

If you are exchanging gifts when do you plan to exchange them?

I thought of having one of my bridesmaids give it to one of the grooms men to give to him before the ceremony.
I thought about putting a adorable note with it that said:
“I cannot wait to spend a lifetime with you”

What time to you think is the ideal to exchange them?
I love to get my fiance gifts!!

If you were a close relative of the bride or groom, would you like a wedding pic book for a Christmas gift?
These would be gifts for our aunts & uncles. We made massive 100 page pic books for our parents and grandparents. We are thinking about making smaller 20-50 page pic books for our aunts & uncles.

Q&A: WHAT IS THE PROPER THING TO DO REGARDING SHOWER/WEDDING GIFTS WE SENT *LAST YEAR*?

What is the proper thing to do regarding shower/wedding gifts we sent *last year*?
My husband’s niece got married last year, and we were unable to attend the wedding (and I was not able to attend the bridal shower) due to the distance and some personal issues we were having.

However, I made certain to send a check a week before the bridal shower, and another check a week before the wedding — sending both to her parents’ home, where she was living at the time.

We *never* received a thank you, but I did notice that the checks were both cashed within a week of being mailed.

Yesterday, my mother-in-law told me that my sister-in-law is still fuming over our not even sending his niece so much as a card! I told her that we *did* send a card for the shower *and* wedding, along with two very generous checks (shower: $ 500, wedding: $ 1000) that *were* cashed.

My mother-in-law stated that I need to go to the bank and get duplicates of the endorsed checks (she stated they should be on file) to give my sister-in-law as “proof” that we did send the checks, and so she can see who indeed cashed them.

I think that my husband’s niece and/or her husband should just be asked if they received them, and if they were the ones who cashed the checks. I do not think I should be expected to go to the bank and ask for the ‘evidence’ — I feel our part was done when we gave the gifts! Now they want us to ‘prove’ that we gave the checks??

We never received a thank you, which I thought was rude, but I did not think anything of it since to be honest, DH’s family is never good with sending out thank you notes.

What should we do? Get ‘proof’ that we gave the checks, and that they were cashed to send to my mother-in-law and sister-in-law?

I am rather insulted that they are asking for ‘proof’ that we sent the checks — and it does make both dh and myself think twice about giving a sizeable gift to hs family again.

So, what is the proper course of action here?

What are some outrageous/expensive wedding gifts given throughout history?
I’m trying to think of real gifts given that are famous and well know. Did a king ever build a castle as a present to his wife? Did a parent ever build a temple for the newlyweds? Did a king ever marry and it result in peace or the end of a war? That kind of thing. Modern stuff is good too, if, you know, somebody purchased someone a $ 20,000,000 yacht or something.
