our wedding will consist of about 150 people and we plan to cook all the food. We are making lasagna, green salads, rolls, pasta salads and a few other miscellaneous things. I am just curious and wanted a rough estimate. I know its just a rough idea but I was not sure if anyone else had done the same thing. Thanks for any advice!

My man hasn’t worn his for years do to the work he does. I’d rather he did not wear one than run the risk of loosing a finger at his job.
I do not wear one since I broke my ring finger on my left hand and frankly it feels bad to have any rings on that finger. So I have not worn mine for over 10 years.
Neither of us see this as an issue. Why is it for others????

How can I ask some people to refrain from giving wedding gifts?
Most of our wedding guests will be traveling and purchasing flights and hotel rooms. I am uncomfortable with some of them giving gifts since I know how costly it will be for them to join us. I truly don’t want their gifts; only their presence. Is there a way to tell them not to get us anything without offending them and also have them take me seriously (instead of saying, “of course I’ll get you something!”)? PS – the invites are out

I am thinking about having a friend of my parents perform my wedding ceremony he would be able to do everything but the actual I Do’s at that time the minister would step in and perform the I Do’s. Would that be legal or customary?

I was wondering why on the left hand and why on the ring finger for wedding rings. I heard the left hand had to do with being closer to the heart or because most people are right handed but what which one is true? What about the ring finger?

What do you think about people counting their wedding gifts? You know, to see who did not give or was “cheap”
The day after their wedding, my brother and his new wife sat down and went through all their wedding gifts/cards and compared them with the guest list.
They basically made note of what everyone gave (for thank you cards).
Since then, they have been speaking to us (immediate family: me, my sis, dad, mom, etc.) and complaining about who did not give them a gift and who gave only $ 50, (our cousin, for example) etc.
What do you think about that? Is that kind of behavior normal, acceptable and generally expected, or is that completely ridiculous and rude? Something in between?

They basically believe that since the wedding was expensive, the gift should reimburse them. They did state it could depend on the person’s means, tho. To their credit — they stated it’s cool for a single person to maybe gift $ 50. But they stated an established middle class couple should double that.
